the front springs for an ae86 should be around 120lb / 2.7kg

I am guessing the corollas are the same

AE86 rears are 2kg I'm pretty sure so it's probably the same.

the ratio sounds right so I would think if it isn't that it would be very close.

So Ikus why do you want to know? comparing to aftermarket rates?

you got it. mainly just figuring out the front spring rate for my daily panelvan (leaning towards 5kg).

also i was just curious as to how many kg's heavier the springs in my other car are to stock rates.
the 8 and 6 kg springs i have at the moment are a bit stiff on the roads around where i live, iv been thinking of going down to 7 and 5 or 4.5.
do you think the difference would be very noticeable sam?

very noticeable indeed. I in my younger days made the mistake of listening to the drifters and bought 6kg springs. It was bumpy and slow, I then went to a 4.9kg (325lb), it's still firm but not firm enough that passenegers notice and not too stiff that it slows me down on the lousy roads around here.. Too bad your not in Vic, I would take you for a drive.

I have to buy some longer springs soon for the front so I'll be going from 8kg to 7 or 6kg. 8 feels like it's putting too much pressure on the chassis on shitty roads.
