    Default RA40 struts into a KE70

Have a good pair of these in my shed, new balljoints, rubbers, lowered springs shocks ect. worked really well in me last KE30.

Now is there any reason why these cant work in a KE70.?? im getting mixed opinions

Some say Bump steer is a big issue with these struts, then others say wack some 30mm RCA's on and bump steer be gone ...

Also read the steering angle is different to the Pin angle or something, and it throws the whole Suspension Geometry out of whack?

ANy advise would be handy, if they not worth putting in me 70 ill flog em off

    Cheers Guys

Put them in. I am 95% sure they will fit.

The only possible hurdle could be the diameter of the RA40 spring seat being too large for the strut tower. Then again, that could be just me being skeptical.

If all else fails there's still ground to be made. If you've pulled a stock strut out, found out the RA40 one won't fit, then take a photo of the two side by side. Notice how there will be an absolutely negligible difference in length - no worse than converting to xT13x Struts - which has no repercussions. Go The RA40 gear, and benifit from having a strut that will take a 2" dia shock.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

my mate is running ra65 struts in his 71 and it handles pretty well. It really low and there is n problem with spring perch fouling. He is running sigma arms but ra40 one should be sine as they are the same as xt130

Well atm the spring on it is a KE30 item. Has had the lower Spring seat cut off and a KE30 one welded on. and has a KE30 top spring hat.

So im assuming id have enough clearence, id just have to use the top part (with the 3 studs that hold strut to tower) from the KE70 struts and place them on the RA40.

Also been reading, XT130 LCA's are the same as KE3x KE5x ones, which are also same as RA40, so in saying that ill end up with a little more -ve Camber yes?

    they bolt in,
KPI is up the shit but. i would do it if i had them sitting on the floor in the garage, its a good upgrade is your not planning on going any further than streeting it.

the strut gives you actually a little bit of +ve camber?

then when the lca come in and puts it out to about -1

    congradulations!

you now need to get at least a 40mm rack spacer to achieve std lock

Yeah i seen that, expains the Bump steer and King pin angle.

I might Flog these off and put that towards some 86 gear.

They dont throw out the KPI or lock do they?
