Default Headlights turning off - high beam indicator on

When driving with the lights on, they sometime turn off then come back on randomly or over a bump. When the headlights go off by themselves, the high beam indicator comes of. The tail lights are not effected.

I gather this is a faulty headlight switch but figure someone has already had this experience.

A new switch is a Ford part or something??? Solder connections???

Sounds like the contact switch behind the indicator stalk.

Mine did that in the carina, high beam indicator was on but no headlights. You need to pull it apart and bend the arms inthere so that it works proper. It takes a bit of time to get it perfect tho.
