i wanna mod my ae71
hey guys fairly new to the forum long time reader barely a poster lol
just about to get my hands on an ae71 4ac, dont have the mega funds or mind to motor conversion so im thinking just general mods to the 4ac, so far ive been thinking of some kinda of cold air intake netter spark plugs and leads maybe a slightly bigger radiator (ae86?)
also going to get extractors and exhaust to give it a nice note.
if u have any ideas or want to suggest something any help wud be great

dont bother modding the 4ac man.
and as for an exhaust well... 4ac are slow, and making it louder, well its just drawing attention to yourself being slow. a bit embarrassing.
if you must keep the 4ac then do what lawson did and "j-pipe turbo" it.
it wont be fast, but it should be faster than a 4age at least.

just get rear springs and spring seats to get it flush (youll need a panhard rod) if you wanna go pimp 13x7.5/8 with stretchies and flared guards
and if you like a thrash get swaybars and a strut bar.
seriously dont do anything to the engine. if you have to, bosch coil, new leads and dizzy
and dont get extractors but get an exhaust so that if you do go 4age in the future (youll get the bug) you can easily modify it to fit.
and please dont get a cannon.

i was thinking of chopping the muffler off ad getting twin pipes made maybe, where would i fund a bosch coil? cheers

yer that sounds decent. dont go over 2 inch. coil you can get from your local parts distributor. i go to auto pro. most go to auto bahn or repco. theyre pretty cheap too.

get a bigger carby like a weber etc depends were and what the springs and shocks are to no a $$ figure if you get su springs from ajps there about 200 for a pair

4ac is a great engine, with the rigth suspension it is plenty of power to have fun.
no it wont smoke tyres but they do very well through the hills once you get up to speed.
compression, webber, exhaust, extractors.
that should see some more kw out of it.
dont spend alot on the 4ac, but dont write it off.
