Car - KE70
motor - 4A-C
use - daily duties
problem - 4ac idles at 2000-2300rpm once warm
occurs/started when - 4ac was dropped in
personal situation - would like to make the car idle normally and not drain the fuel so quickly
So yesterday I dropped a 4ac in my daily bus yesterday after losing a cylinder in the last engine. The new engine runs fine, when cold it idles about 1400rpm but once it is warm this climbs to 2000-2300rpm which seems quite excessive to me. I would like to know what could be causing this and how I can make the car idle normally once it is warm.
Cheers, Kieran
p.s. Also I have tried playing with the idling screw and timing and this made hardly any difference.
Checked the choke butterfly is open when warm?
Could be a vacuum leak.. Have you swapped inlet manifolds or carbies and reused the old gaskets?
All the vacuum lines connected properly? If you spray a bit of carby cleaner on the leaky spot it should make the engine stumble a bit as it sucks in the cleaner.
