fit a W gearbox
Hi there
as title states, i'm looking for advice/recommendations for replacing my diff, and possibly gearbox, on my sprinter. Its an ADM 1984 model, and is running a 4AGE 20V. current diff is noisy and has excessive backlash, so looking to replace it soon. I'd like something a bit stronger, but not sure what to try and buy. also interested in replacing/upgrading gearbox. diff is the priority though. rear drum to disc conversion would be nice, but is not essential.
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.
cheers!
matt

My stock 86 T50 seems to cope fine with the 20v.
Also im running a zenki t-series with trd lsd, works awesome too. I was thinking about upgrading my diff too at one point, but for a reasonably stock 20v, I dont really think its worth the effort.
all depends on how you drive, I am sure there are guys on here with brass button clutches dumping clutches with grippy tyres in 2nd and 3rd gear whist drifting. It doesn't take much power to shockload the driveline doing that.

... yeah, what he ^ said. I went through 7 of the 6.7" T-series R&P and 3 T-50 transmissions before giving up on the 'weaker' stuff. All on a STOCK bigport/tvis 4age...
Then I went to W58 Supra trans & MA4x Supra Diff (F-series 7.5") and had no problems.

p.s. I'm selling my custom setup to bolt in a W55-59 trans for $1100 USD

Rebuilt T50 or W5x
JDM diff.
What Marvis said
the way i see it, if your distroying T50's and Jap diff's with a 4ag NA motor, you need to change your setup ( Clutch/Tyres ) and learn how to shift a bit better.
you really shouldnt be trashing that kind of equipment behind a 1600 NA motor.
