post 4, there is a good pic of how the cams should line up, you might have different cam gears but the principle and the marks are still the same

hey do have anything for seting dizzy timing
top dead center. then point to 1
my new hero. cheers!
i dont understand? you will need to noob it up for me.
got crank and cams all good any1 know how to set dizzy timing?
buy a timing gun, attach the magnety bit of the gun to the number 1 spark lead
aim gun at the harmonic balancer. as the light flashes, you want the mark on the harmonic balancer to match up anywhere between the '10' and the '15' on the cover behind it
then do skids
Are we talking about timing up the distributor or setting your ignition timing here?
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
1.take out number one spark plug stick thumb in hole wind motor by hand till feel air coming out then line up cams
2.look at dizzy cap where number 1 contacts rotor, point rotor there and put dizzy in trying to stay close to where number 1 on rotor cap would be when on
3.do up scews leave dizzy bolt finger tight and hook up timing light start car and point at crank the mark should be flicking within the numbers on the crankcase by turning dizzy you will see the flicking the mark advance or retard you want to set it at 10 degees before tdc with check connecter bridged with paper clip between e1 and te1 terminals or set it to 16 degres before tdc without check connector bridged
might not get enough asjustment out of dizzy the first time take dizzy out with rotor cap off noting position of rotor button and turn the rotor 1 tooth forward or backward depending on which way you need to turn the dizzy to get to desired timing mark on crank
you sir are a legend. the best kind. the perfect answer.
i thank you dearly.
