ahh ok, thanks man. Thats all i needed to know
Hey guys,
I dropped the oil in my t18 yesterday, and under the oil cap was a light brown oily mixture. the oil itself was fine, and black. as it would be, since it was 5000 km overdue for a service when i got it. I've heard that if this happens, it maybe a blown head gasket. it only blows water vapors when cold. Basically my two questions are:
1. Is this a sign to a blown head gasket?
2. Would there be anything to worry about if it isn't a blown head gasket?
Thanks,
Andrew.

Was the car sitting for an extended period of time without being driven? This can sometimes create a little excess moisture which tends to congregate under the cap.
f you have a blown HG it will more than likely be like a caramel milkshake.
Lots of short runs / drives, lack of thermostat etc, will also cause the above situation, it depends on the severity, if everything inside the rocker cover is covered as well & its quite thick, not a good sign but if its mainly around the oil cap its usually down to condensation build up ..
If its a head gasket you would be using coolant as well ..
agreed........my old ke70 did the same thing and never had a bhg. Specially in winter....i think what was happening was moisture was getting into the rocker cover due to shitty seal on oil cap
Yea it did sit for quite a period of time, without being driven.
Thanks,
Andrew.
Give it a service and away you go. Personally I would be giving it a service flush....... meaning get some cheaper oil and service it again with your usual oil in a couple of hundred klms.
^ cheaper oil being a cheaper mineral oil, not synthetic.
Just sounds like a bit of moisture building up in the rocker cover, I wouldn't stress over it too greatly. I see lots of brand new cars do this from sitting around, etc.
