always around 2700 regardless of throttle input? It breaks up slowly or clean crisp stop?

hey guys
having a bit of an issue over the last couple of weeks
under load the car is developing an issue at about 2700rpm to about 3k were it doesnt want to rev any higher, and as result have to change gear early to compensate for this.
so far give it a service and changed the plugs just want to gauge what else it could be before I go through and change everything else like leads / coil etc.
thanks

sounds like a sensor playing up, either map or tps.
do a diagnostic on ecu, and see if any errors come up.
