Well if it is in your blood I guess you should stop fighting it.........so I have
I can still remember watching the race in 1986 at the ripe old age of 15 and watching the TTA cars racing, of course they never got much air time as it was all about the Holden vs Ford with the occasional BMW and skyline thrown in for good measure, or perhaps a Swedish Valiant to upset the natives.......but I was hooked on the Sprinter from back then
So I have decided to attempt to replicate the 61 TTA Sprinter, as best I can.
So start with one relatively clean white AE86, one owner, note I did not say careful!!! which has had a few more bumps that the owner cared to disclose, but essentially it is a good shell to start with.
Add to that one Genuine 8700kms AE86 4AGE with 280 deg cams and lightened flywheel engine for street use
and a built 11:3 comp 40 thou over size, ACL race bearings, ported head, shim retainer conversion, 304 cams, HKS F Con computer, super light flywheel, hoping for around 200hp
Plus a jap spec Disc to disc t series diff with 4.77 ratio and 2 way Cusco Center.
Wheels, Rear Simmons V4 15x9 (yes I know they are wider than they ran) front 15x7
Brakes and Suspension yet to be determined.
I will put some more images up as it progresses
