    Default Fuel leak

    Hey,
I seem to be leaking fuel from the petrol tank Ive inspected it and it looks like there was some sort of hole in it thats been patched up
Any ideas to stop the leak until i have enough time to change tanks? and has anyone changed there tanks before?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

get some of that kneed it....or steel putty or what ever it is.

you will be able to seal up the hole temporarily until you can get the tank out.

Quick Steel is one that springs to mind and is easily available from auto parts stores

we used it to "fix" a corossion hole in the engine block from the water jacket over the top into the combustion chamber in a mitsi magna.

The car is still going on that engine 4 years later

If it can do that which shocked the shit outta me then it should be fine on the tank just make sure you clean and sand the area around the hole to get a good seal and to make sure it sticks

Quicksteel would probably be the best.

Changing the tank isn't that hard.
You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?

Tried the quick steel stuff on an exhaust hole i had in the muffler and it worked well but it hasnt completely stopped my fuel leak, it just slowed it down. Im going to buy another one and put it on the tank and if that doesnt help i guess ill change the tank sooner rather than later.
    Thanks for the help.

I bought another Quick Steel and its still leaking fuel. Im just going to change the tank over as i think it'll be easier in the long run.
Also, the Quick Steel come off of my muffler while i was driving it. Maybe the muffler gets too hot?
Thanks any way for the help.
