    Default bosch coils which one's?

Hi all doing a coil pack conversion and need to know which one's to use e.g. part number's. Have spoken to a few dealers and apparently there are a few different types, even though they all look the same some internals are different so ive been told.

Man, be more specific when asking questions.

    What ECU?

Is there an ignitor in the system? and do you want to retain it? (dunno if bosch have any coils with ignitors built in or not.)

I don't know why I know this off the top of my head but for simple two wire hook up, the HEC716 is your best bet.

Try ringing Brennan at Dynotunz. 3800 4940. They do a bit of evo stuff and fit EMS computers. He might
shed some light on it for you?

Off the top of my head, that's the one I see used most everywhere. The MEC's aren't really relevant here as you're running sequential, I hope.

Then I did some digging as i need coils for one car or another. Don't get the 715 as the 1/4" blade terminals are shitty and can jump across or something. It's apparently discontinued or redesigned. Same shit as the HEC716 except 716 has screw on terminals. Better. Then there's the spark energy. Numbers below. 715/716>717/718 There's the 720 and 723 but 1. you don't need that much energy(wicked for use in a stun-gun), 2. it's 'apparently' more than what the microtech box can put out.

    HEC 710 ( 9 220 061 710 ) with 3.5 ms =92mJ ( male anode, minitimer connector rear )

    HEC 715 (9 220 061 715) =92 mJ

    HEC 716 (9 220 061 716)= 92 mJ ( male anode )

    MEC 717 (9 220 061 717)= 70 mJ

    MEC 718 (9 220 061 718)= 70 mJ ( male anode )

    MEC 720 (9 220 061 720)= 115 mJ

    MEC 723 (9 220 061 723)= 121 mJ

Either that or ditch the ignitor and run ls coils. There's a set of 4 used coils but the HEC716 will be cheaper than that.
