Default What's the law about wheels tyres and guards in VIC

    Hi guy

Just wondering what the law is in Victoria for wheels tyres and guards?

I heard it 1" wider and 2" bigger that you can go for wheels. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Also I would like to know what tyre size should I be puting on my wheels there 15" superlite GTR light 15x8 with negative zero offset. I would like it to be the widest I can fit on them as I want more rubber on the as I can but with scraping the factory stock gaurds. Car is currently stock height but will be lowered later on and when lowered I still don't want any trouble with the guards or scraping issues.

Would be really good if you guys can help Mi with this before a make a stupid mistake and buy the wrong tyre

    Cheers thanks everyone

I think your pretty spot on with those laws.......I'm running 15x8/15x7.5 and havent had any troubles as of yet. It also depends on cops in your area, how you drive, attitude etc.

195/50-15 should be fine all round. Anywhere from 80-140 a tyre depending on what your looking for. Shouldn't have too many issues with stock height/wheels, but depending on how low you go you need to either roll or flatten the inner edge of your guards as you will definately get scrape.

widest tyre isn't always the best... if you want grip buy a grippy tyre (re001's, R1R's, federals etc.)

195/50 should sufficient but I wouldn't go any bigger than 205/50

only reason I see to go larger is if you want to lay big power to the ground
