ae71 x member doesn't fit exactly... I ended up chopping it and welding some plates..
Doing a W57 conversion for somebody and I just wanted to double check the plans with people. This is just going off my head (can't get to old forum to check these things again) from what I read before. This is all to go into a turbo 4A sprinter.
- W57 Box
- W-A Bellhousing
- AE71 Auto crossmember
- RA40 Manual front half of tailshaft
- SA63 Shifter location (to suit standard shifter hole)
- Custom clutch to suit W spline and appropriate 4A flywheel (in this case 200mm)
And depending on the bellhousing use a JDM AE86 slave.
Does that sound correct for a bolt in job?

yeah not sure on the shifter locations, my w55 was supposedly from a corona and it lined up perfect.

Interesting, I have sold 2 of these for this purpose, although I never got feedback from the buyer.
I was under the impression that it was around the other way, the box I will be getting is from an RA60 so hopefully it'll work just as is.
Thanks for people's help so far
i used a celica slave cylinder bigger bore as the t18/ae86 couldnt push my clutch in.. you can make a xmember by following these instructions
i made a 10mm adapter plate for the rear of the t50 bell housing (so slave is still in same place as well as fork) countered bolts to the box (had to retap box to new thread) then some mods to the bellhousing and it bolts to the plate, sit perfect in the shifter position.
clutch wise i had to go a tarago one so it fit the w box shaft and still fit in the gze gear i had previously, only got the clutch plate its self (round $200) and used the exeedy pressure plate i already had best i could get was a ceramic 4 puck... will c how it holds... anyone know a better clutch plate to use?
