well i know some 4age do this but i want to make mine stop doing this
it will idle at 1200 but then go from 1200 -2000 and back down and back up
hunting at idle
occurs/started when -when i got the car
personal situation - wish to fix this as it is shit to sit at the lights with it like this

You can have any brew you want... as long as it's a Datsun / Corolla / What is that?
how is this done

loosen screws which hold it on and rotate it (or read the manual).
Also adress any vac leaks

You might want to check out the wreckers for a quick/cheap fix... i think the carmy 3SFE use an identical TPS to the 4age. correct me if im wrong.

It's not hunting as everyone says. Hunting is caused when an engine is out of tune at idle. Your tune is probably quite good. The problem is idle cut, where the engine is getting enough air to rev past 2000rpm, but the idle switch is closed, which tells the ECU you dont want to rev past 2000. The TPS adjustement is probably fine (as the idle swtich has to be closed for this problem to occur). Look for a vac leak, missing vac cap, or faulty/blocked ISCV as your engine is simply getting more air than it needs at idle.
