diesel a just a lighter grade of oil if you look at it in a very oversimplified sort of way. So if the seals and gaskets resist petrol and oil then they will resist diesel just the same

yeah go for it, I mean its not like you have anything to lose more than what you already potentially have. Pics for the win

by seeing your cams are you asking can you run the motor with the cam cover off... no you cant, you'd end up with a mess everywhere

but otherwise fine, and yeah you might wanna repeat the process, go get 4L of the cheapest oil u can find for mixing with the diesel and do it a couple of times.

Id just like to state that what alot of people miss is that deisel is a lubricant while petrol is a solvent.

but yair deisel is the best flush ive used. always handy to have a can ready to use.

Running diesel in the engine is a bad idea. I would use something like kero 10:1 mix with oil if you must. Diesel fuel WILL damage bearing surfaces, especially if it is run over idle.

I know diesel mechs do this sometimes BEFORE they pull down the motor. This was told to me by an ex diesel mechanic/fitter.
