Default Are steel wheels cool enough for school?

So i was going to buy some fake yaoi wheels but then decided against it.

    juts kidding.

I cant find any wheels that are both cheap and cool enough so I priced up some custom modified steel wheels, which would end up being roughly $600 for 4 at 15X8 inch and 0ish offset (thought looking at a few wheels im not sure this will be possible)

of course adding a few more hundred dollars to this will mean i can buy some real secondhand wheels made out of aluminium and actually look like what i want them to look like, but the only real reason i need new wheels is because i refuse to pay money for 14 inch tyres. Steel wheels will cover the tiny front discs and rear drums too.

So i ask all of the wheel enthusiasts here: is using steelies cooler than buying cheapo sportmax/axxis OG/whatever wheels? they will be going on a corona so i don't have to worry too much about performance, and i will try to find some doner wheels that are period correct, and will paint them in the highest quality export matt flat black rattle paint.

maybe 8 inch isn't wide enough, need to do some measuring really.

I'm sorry but this is a gay thread.

Steel wheels can be cool, but yours will not be. Why you ask? Ever see that episode of the simpsons where marge asks if she's cool, and bart explains how asking to be cool isn't cool its lame? Well thats whats happening here.

In short if you want to put steelies on your car do it, if you want to run sprtmax run sportmax, you don't need anyones approval, it is YOUR car, do what the fuck you want to it.

    who cares.

trying to get other peoples approval is not how you build a car.

if your building it for others approval, your doing it all for the wrong reason.

I will say agian that not all steel wheels are heavy, quality aftermarket steel wheels, are usually around the 6-8kg range for a 15 inch wheel. Which you will find is very similar to alot of "performance" wheels on the market. ANd they are still a fraction of the price, and will take a hell of alot more abuse.

And unless you plan to spend in excess of $800 a wheel for something lighter, I think they are the best bang for buck wheel in the world.
