Blacktop 20v suit rebuild.
Hi guys, Ive decided to part with the blacktop motor I have here. Gonna give it a week or three and put it on ebay if the forums dont come through with a buyer.
Its the first motor to go through my AE71, but it only lasted 8 months due to a rich tune. All it needs is rings. I got sick of it being smoky and embarassing on the roads so I removed it and go a very good tune. Its been sitting here in my garage ever since. When I bought the engine from the importer it was hella fresh with top notch compression and it ran wonderful and mad 89kw on a dyno with a shit tune.
Whats included?
Motor and head and alternator strap. No quads or flywheel. It doesn't have its polyrib crank pulley as I needed it for my Silvertop but all the timing stuff is still there.
It has a silvertop top and front cover fitted but its obviously a blacktop, it has the massive exhaust ports, and the hydraulic type tensioner. Can come with a silver or black valley cover included. Includes dizzy and standard leads also, although the dizzy cap is cracked from the importers.
Its probably the best motor you could get to rebuild, it was removed still running great and making good power, no spun bearings or failures. Head has never been removed, still torqued on properly. In my judgement all it needs is rings, the head was making top compression for sure, just got glazed bores. A light hone and some rings and bobs your aunty.
