but that requires paint
Car -ae71
motor -4age
use -from A to B
problem - i dont like my guards
occurs/started when -i looked at them
personal situation - they are making me depressed.
jus t wanting to know how to flair the front and rear guards on my ae71, like pulling out the lip sortta type thing.
but how do people do it and not dammage the paint or anything?
i'm thinking of doing the pulling the lip out trick on the rears and ust rollong the front tho.
anways of doing this is much appreciated
but that requires paint
u can also get a solid metal bar, about 2 inches in diamater, depending on the height of ur car, jam that between the wheel and guard and then drive, if u want to get a lip on it get someone to hold the bar up against the guard as u drive and get a hammer and gently tap the guard in, pulling up and out on the bar and tapping the guard in will make it roll, this may require paint if its old and shitty

The above bar suggestion is crap and will warp your panels and stuff your paint .
Their are threads on here that have a wealth of info on doing this.
Just use the search function
if u do it incorrectly yes it will, as i used to be a panel beater i could do it no dramas, so i wouldnt go as far to say it was "crap"

All the pole method does is roll the lip, I wouldn't call it a "flare"... anyway do it properly and u will get the result your after, if it's a pig then bend crap out of it with a pole. It's your car .
depends on the fitment you want weather you roll or flare
what about one of those guard rollers? they're fairly soft on paint
just use a heat gun over paint. stops cracking and chipping of paint. while using the pole method. u can flare the guard with a pole. just get a wider diameter pole and like haveaparty said, get a mate to hold the pole upwards to give it a little flare.
