    Okay the worst kept secret ever - i'm going VTEC powered. I considered a 4G63 and even bid on a C32B - but an F20C will do for now

    I'll be doing it differently to how most people go about it - i refuse to cut or even bash my trans tunnel, and there's no way in hell i will destroy my car's handling by doing subframe spacers. So i have a plan - hopefully it'll work.

    Hahaha.

    I'm thinking i'll make a new sump (or modify the stock one) to lower the engine as close as possible to the steering rack . Then i'll make a new crossmember from scratch (or more likely just modify the standard one) so that i can leave the LCA's in the standard position, but then lower the rack ~3cm or so (assumption) for the required tunnel and bonnet clearance. Then i can make some tie rod ends with spacers (as per GT3 cup cars, mustang race series, any pro-series dwift cars overseas etc) so that there is little-to-no bump steer.

    I know that because my steering rack is no longer in line with my LCA i will never technically be able to remove bump steer, but it's not a rally car so i doubt i'll even have enough travel to see any toe changes. I'll be making/buying a bumpsteer gauge to be sure of spacer heights etc.

    I will definitely make a decent bash plate. This is a given.

    And this way, roll-centres aren't somewhere below hell, and i don't chop up my pretty car. You and your mates are smart cookies Gunner, could you see what magicman and co say? (i don't know him, nor anyone else personally who knows 'much' about this type of thing).
