    okay.

6-spd bellhousing is done. hopefully the gearbox will put together this weekend by a friend of mine

basically all the parts for my motor are now here, so i hope to drop everything to the machinists as soon as they open

buuuuuuuuuut none of it is going to go in unless i can find the parts required to ditch my power-steering

so if any of you know someone who has a crossmember, steering rack, uni joint, and steering column ... please speak up

Really interested in how the 6 speed turns out, would like to make one for my gze. When I converted from PS to my quaife rack I used the PS column and a ma70 intermediate shaft. It isnt ideal and a pain to fit but its another idea if you get stuck, it works fine in the end.

Okay, so because of the floods there's been a bit of a halt on progress - my gearbox guy can't put the box together for a few weeks .. so i might worry about that until after i've run the engine in.

But my engine should be back by the end of the week, so i might have a running car in a week or two Will update with pics and stuff soon.

Okay, so i got new extra-lock rack ends (from robo), and new poly rack bushes, tie rod ends, etc

My question: How the f*ck do i install the D-shaped poly rack bush? I literally can't keep it compressed enough with my hands to get the bracket line up with the bolt hole. Is there something i have forgotten to do? Do i need some magical tool?

i used longer bolts so i could start threading it before completely compressed it. and then tightened it down. after that i just cut off the excess thread
