the swap will be no harder than from a 4ac...
and if your planning on using a complete jap loom etc, it should be a piece of piss to do
Hi all,
I have a 3A-U carby engine in my trueno and have talked to my mechanic regarding a conversion to 4AGE with fuel injection.
He says the swap would be simple but wiring will be the most time consuming and complicated of the whole swap process.
I just want your opinions about how true this is? I mean I have read many posts about swapping the 4AC to 4AGE and not one has mentioned about overly complicated wiring?
Or could the complication be due to the conversion from carby to fuel injection?
Just to add I am planning on a JDM RWD 4AGE + wiring loom + std ecu conversion.
Thanks for helping our a noobie.
Cheers

Thanks mate.
I'm also planning to use an external fuel pump vs an in tank fuel pump for the 4AGE.
Anyone have any opinions about the pros and cons of external vs internal? I've been told that the conversion will be made easier by using an external pump.
For a full conversion get a T50 gearbox also. But the K50 will probably work.
the k50 will work Johnny, and that saves him having to change tailshaft
Mine's a bit unique...it's an auto, so I am planning a manual conversion which prob will include the T50.
Keep the information coming guys...
well you might wanna change the diff ratios and no for the engine to be wired its like 4 wires to get the engine running a vl turbo fuel pump would make it so easy to do toymods has alot of info they would a big help for wiring questions
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
It is 3.909:1
get a whole jdm ae86 rwd engine with a loom, and then yes, its by far one of the simplest conversions ever.
