There was a 100% original gt apex trueno i could have got too, but thats 100% original and i wouldn't want to mess it up. It's still going to be street reg'ed and may be engineered (depending how things pan out). Still have some a/c shit, need a condenser....

In other news I've removed the engine out of goldy and just waiting for the new owner to pick up the shell. When that happens i'll be pulling out the 4age and bolting in the 4agte. In the mean time, I cleaned up the engine bay a little. Turned out ok



Also repainted the bootlid as the paint was mat white with a rough texture coat. Turned out ok for cans



Wanna start doing this next week! Also there will be things for sale shortly, have a lot of double up parts now that i don't need.

Did some work this arvo...

Rear guards were shitting me off because:
-They looked like ass
-They were too wide (my 8.5 -21's didn't quite fit properly, need 10's)
-The flare profile was kinda gay

Before:

So i took to it with a hammer and began trying to obtain the stock profile again. Few taps in and it was cracking like crazy, in which for a minute I thought the whole arch was fiber glass! Some massaging with pdr tools to pump the arch out again and the end result:






Now my 8 -5's fit better! Just need to get my lower springs to get the height nice. Ill get my welder out over the next few days and weld the cuts over and start smoothing out the imperfections

With some days off ive got now I started to get some work done

Got out early and started preparing the rear guards for welding. Had to clean up the stubborn bog (5mm thick) and original paint under it.



Then welded the outer edge in place! Was hard to weld because there was silicone used to seal up the cuts which could not be removed. In the end a few welds need to be re-done but all good


The other side I decided to get tig'd up but it was turning out worse than the mig due to the silicone. However its much cleaner in the cuts now so the mig might work better this time. Hopefully tomorrow i can get the remainder welded so I can start the filling!
