Time for an update I think....

Had some bugs to iron out (no not moths). Firstly a few days after I got it running, the larger harmonic balancer shat itself (not a nevo, a modified standard one). At the same time the water pump shat itself too. I replaced the water pump, and borrowed a standard harmonic balancer until i could get the replacement one modified. I was also concerned about the way it was boosting up (would hit 11psi then dropped back to 7-8psi straight away). Turned out the abv was modded incorrectly which was a simple fix of switching some vac lines around (yay, it would hit 12psi). It was running great until the other day when it appears ive developed a boost leak. I've narrowed it down to either leaking gaskets or the abv is leaking. Too busy to work on it right now so ill leave that till next year when i get a day off

Also during this time, some parts from AJPS rocked up. This included:

    -Whiteline strut brace
    -Noltec Adj panhard rod
    -New park light
    -Dash mat
    -Center Console Lid
    -Random trim bits
    -Stickers

After finally getting the strut brace, I went to fit it and it would not clear the jdm washer bottle (bah, whiteline marking for adms now ) Hopefully a cusco one is on the way soon.

At the same time, I picked up a brand new Mocal oil cooler sandwich plate. But wait there is more....

I managed to score some $40 coilovers from the forums a few weeks ago. For the price, I couldn't say no. I was expecting the shock insert to be some shitty kyb excel g's, but to my supprise they were actually TRD Tokico yellow short stroke race shocks (pretty much a 5way trd on max setting) in good condition. The coilover struts them self are pretty shitty, but for the price they will work (until I make some).

Finally, I purchased some new rims from Infinite Autosports. Some lovely rs8 watanabe rims

    14x7 +1
    14x7.5 -3

Oh yeah, also got a few rust free panels (such as drivers side quater, rear lower beaver, and a virtually rust free hatch. Hopefully will have the car painted before end of feb next year.

    picture time...

    Update time I spose.

Got a T series diff put in, and at the same time fitted the new panhard rod (yay no more exhaust smashing on panhard rod). Currently borrowing Lost Prophets Kaaz 2 way (thanks james ) centre in the diff so soon I will be up for another diff.

Also took it for a slide at wanneroo raceway on the drift practise night on the 25th of Jan. Had a lot of little random issues (the s/c belt iverted itself and destroyed the belt, thermo fan relay died on start grid). Biggest downer of the night was a tyre popping off one of my new watanabes and scratching 75% of the lip. Other then that, it was an ok night i spose but ill be out next week, hopefully not in the pits as much.

Got a front pair of matching recaro copy relciners. They are pretty mint although they have takamii printed where recaro would be.....lol

Watanabes now have tyres fitted (185/60 R14 federals) and have a minor amount of stretch, look hot i must say Car needs to be lowered

In other news, I now have purchased another ae86. Pretty rough (not AS rusted at my gold one) and 4ac has a BHG. Ironically it's using the head and alternator from my old 4ac, so its nice to have some of it back

    What mods ive found:
    Full face tails
    Cannon
    King springs
    Cd/mp3 player
Dents / broken window (thank you mr person who chucked the rock at my car)
SSR meshies (will find out what width and offet, look like 7.5 +5ish and 3 piece i think)
Some shitty watanabes (probably new skid rims for me lol)

Plans to get it running good again for daily spec, hook up ac and paint it fresh white.

    Some pics of car:

    some more pics

(yeah I forgot to mention I got some whitelines... )

Thanks man Though they are going to be up for sale shortly

Time for an update. After a long think about what engine to chuck in my new daily, I decided to buy a JDM rwd 4age. Found one for a realitively decent price, but it needed a general tidy up. Pulled the old 4ac crud bucket out, re-wired the engine bay back to factory standards (god dam auto electricians and amp wiring), gave the bay a general clean and degrease and dropped in the 4age. No real pics of the process, but will get some pics of the complete engine bay soon. Been driving it around for a while now, seems very reliable but lacks fuel economy (I don't think the o2 sensor I put in from a torago is working lol).

Not too much has happened with the gold 86 appart from these new wheels I bought yesterday:

15x8.5" -21 Hoshino Impul Pro Spoke

Should do a test fit soon to see how much work will be required on the front guards, but I need to run more caster already from what ive seen

Ok, so i thought i would update...

Got my coilover struts sorted out with springs and top hats (was by luck i found some the right size ). Ended up being 8kg springs mated to trd yellows, which actually work quite well, also dropping the car another inch (need some rca's now). Finally added a missing part of my gze loom which was the injector resistor pack, gave me some more low down torque and reduced fuel consumption.

After growing tired of the sc12 i opted for something a little better.......... a t25g So about a month ago I pulled out the gze and began removing all the bits which make it a ZE. At the same time I also changed the seals while it was out. Took the sump off the change it to one with an oil drain welded in and while looking at the crank, i noticed the rear main seal spring had seperated and was now sitting curled around the crank It had been rubbing on it for a while (nice little polished groove), but the position its in has not done any real damage.

Was going to use an ebay low mount stainless manifold but because it was mostlikely going to make it a bit tight for space, I got a high mount cast manifold (also will last a lot longer and its made it quite easy to work with. The only problem is that I need to make a custom actuator bracket, although im sure i can fab something up.

Engine will be run on standard gze management and injectors with around 8-9psi for the time being, although I am very tempted to run an adaptronic straight out with 7m injectors @ 1bar.

    Specs:
    ae92 bigport gze (8.0:1cr - rebuilt ~ 40,000km ago)
    standard injectors (365cc)
    Rwd bigport intake manifold
rwd alternator/water setup (no cold start)
    cast highmount t2 manifold
    t25g (oil cooled only)
    Speedflow fittings and braided hose
Oil cooler sandwich plate(with thermostat) and 16row oil cooler
212mm flywheel with 4pk button clutch
    T fiddy and T18 diff
    (not finalised)

While the engine is out I will be also focusing on getting the shell up to scratch. This involves fixing the remaing rust, prep for paint, painting engine bay and car. It also includes stripping the interior, making a cage (well give it a shot anyway and tidying up other general loose ends.

Not sure how long its going to take me, I want to get it done asap but Im sure its gonna be off the road for a while

Anyway, some progress shots of whats going on and what needs to be done.

engine bay needs to be stripped out and prepped for paint

Tom, i gotta say you remind me of me

Are you going to port the intake mani like i did? Whats wrong with running a few water lines to the turbo? Mine gets pretty fucking hot. Other than that, Cool beans!

this has done sick burnouts in the past, should do even better ones with new setup
    go the 7m injectors tommywommy
but it pisses me off when people assume your hooning cos your car is loud, has bald tires, a roll cage, fresh bake and dinted bumpers!!
Or driving in a wolf pack.

Might run water lines, I have fittings to Tee into heater lines (but since i smashed the outlet on the heater core i may just run the water straight to the turbo). Ill see how it works without anyway.

i also do not condone burnouts, unless they are sik
