    Cool The Sprinter Project

    Heya Guys,

Picked up my hachi a week ago, figure it's time to create a build thread after reading so many other awsome builds.

Note: I'm still going over the car so i'm not 100% sure on all of the mods it has as of yet. More focused on fixing up some rust and tidying up the interior right now.

    Engine Mods:
    -4AGE 16V Small port
    -Extractors
    -Exhaust

    Suspension/Chassi Mods:
    -Adjustable front and rear shocks.
    -King springs (I think..)
    -Front and rear strut braces
    -Half Cage
-Bucket seats! (A must, i'm nearly in the passenger seat half the time..)

    Wheels:
-Front and rear 15x7.5 and 15x8 2 piece Simmons rims.
    Planned Mods:
-Freshen up smallport (Gaskets, seals etc)
-Decent set of cams (272 degree or taller, still deciding)
    -Adjustable CAM Gears
    -TRD Head gasket
    -Some headwork etc..
-20v Black Top Quad Throttle Bodies (Lined up already I hope!)
    -LSD Rear end
    -Rear disc brakes
-Decent front brakes, rx7 or wilbows..

Over the holidays i'm planning on tidying up the interior, getting an uncracked dash and turning most of the interior to black, and making some home made door trims.

Car's getting the rust all fixed up next week, it's only very mild but i'd rather kill it off now and wait a bit longer on spending money of fun stuff. Also chasing a new rear bumper and bonnet as the bonnet looks like it's been sanded back with an angle grinder, and the rear bumper is wrinkling.

I'll be posting up before/after pics etc of most the mods so stay tuned!

So I went down to get the colour matched today so i could get a tin and touch up some chips, remove rust and general repairs etc..
Drive an hour down to Paint Supplies in SA to get told the dude that does the color matching isn't in till mid January...
Soooo rather then waste a day, I bought 4 litres of white acrylic paint and 1 litre of black acrylic to repaint the damn thing.

I've been fixing up the interior and repainting bits and pieces black, i'll get some pics up once i've got my new uncracked dash in.

Expect pics up of the car in primer within the next few days, inside of the car and around the doors is already black so it's not a huge ammount of work.

Looks good man, personally would have kept it red!
How much a new uncracked dash set you back?

I picked the dash up for $100, pretty decent i thought!

It's actually more of a burnt orange, I have no paint code for it so it was going to be a real pain to match. I was tempted to go red but i've always liked the clean white with black bumpers/bonnet look.

It's always a nice suprise to find a set of Koni Yellow adjustable struts in the back of your car

Now to pull a front wheel off and work out what the fronts are, and confirm the rim sizes.

I've also verified they're all 2 piece rims, I was going to buy some other rims but considering they're simmons i might just keep them..

Soo i finally put my uncracked dash in after painting it! Looks smick, i broke my clock surround though

Only got a little bit more plastic to paint inside and it'll all be looking very smick, i'd take some pictures but it was my first time ever removing a dash and it took me most the day so i'm relaxing with a cold one

I love the contrast of the black bonnet, but i'll see how i go. I've grown very fond of the orange and even though i've already got the paint here i'm hesitant about changing the colour.

Further news I may have sourced a t series rear end and a nice trd series 2 way. I'll need to convert the rears to some corona disks, already lined up some fc calipers for the front, reallly want to try and get the brakes and diff sorted so I can hit up some track days. I've also started planning out a 7age build, since im looking at freshening up the small port, I may as well do it properly.

I'll post up pics of the interior thus far in a bit
