welcome to dc mate, pretty cool bit bit of gear you have there.
Hi guys,
Been a long time lurker on here since before my previous levin and thought it time to actually post something up!
Based near Bristol in the UK, owned a Levin for a year before selling it to find something a bit more track focused.
When a friend of mine mentioned he was selling his trueno I couldnt refuse!
The car was built by Garage Shapple in Japan, trying to find more info on it.
When my mate had it, it was running some mental cams and carbs which werent running right, so a stock lump has been dropped in, in its place for the time being. Credit to James, he spent a long time fixing the lil bits of rust and tidied the whole car up. He was prepping the car for a respray when the need to sell came up so as it stands it needs paint but not much else!
not much been going on at the moment with the sh!tty weather (snow, ice ect) but am planning the respray in late jan/feb in the original white. Then later plans are to refit some carbs and cams!
Heres some pics..
The old Levin:
The N2 Trueno as it looked in Japan before it was imported
The magazine feature the car had in Japland

welcome to dc mate, pretty cool bit bit of gear you have there.
Awesome purchase! Has the car changed much since the magazine article?
What are your plans for the car now?
its no longer on carbs, and has a goodline rear hatch along with some other bits tidied up.. the wiring was a rats nest when it came over to the previous owner!
plans for the car now are to get it resprayed, most likely in white although toying with Nimbus grey or black.also refurbish the wheels
later next year im looking at refitting some twin 45's and cams to give it some more poke. wont be doing much to it at the moment, weather outside is -10 and working long hours at work so motivation is low. aiming to have it resprayed by middle february and then start booking some trackdays! will try get some better pics up soon too!
no way! i love this car!
keep it white though!
whats the specs on the wheels?
White will definately be the easiest as all the doorshuts ect are still white..
Wheel specs are: 15x8.5 - 21 front, 15x9 - 27 rear
Looks tight!
real nice mate, cant wait to see some action vids on the track once the new donk has been given a makeover.
welcome
WIN! looks awesome man, this should be a great thread. more pics? what are the specs on the diff?
thanks for the welcome guys,
ive been out in the car on track when the previous owner had it and its was great, handled well, temp gauge didnt budge and kept up with a turbo trueno running around 190bhp
im trying to find more info on the car but the garage shapple website is pretty poor!
not much will be going on with the car until Im back from visiting family in Dubai in january, although I may get the wheels refurbished with gold or white centres in the meantime
