    Default Ozzy Spec AE86's

    Hi

    I'm ne to Austrilia so am a we bit unsure of the Spec of you 86s

    For an ADM model is the drum break rear end a S code or T code Diff?

    Also the front breaks are solid, are these ae85 Struts?

    Sorry for the Noobie questions, I have only ever played with JDM spec imports in NZ so am unsure of the ADM specifactions

    "ADM" Sprinters are similar to the AE85, and roughly the same spec as the SR AE86 in Europe, and the SR-5 AE86 in America.

    AE85 = 3A-U / K50
    AE86 = 4A-C / T50 / S series diff.

    dont think so.... they come up evey now and then, but they generally are not cheap.

    easy option is the drum t series.... in a 900 kg car tehy are ok with better brakes up front

    Intresting to note, are these the T18 rear ends?

    Drums are fine, work way better with the Hand Break

    yeah. in this country, spare axles for jdm ae86 rear ends are very hard to come by. so the t18 housing is the best bet. be sure to grab the tailshaft too as this is very slightly shorter.

    as far as ae85 struts. well we dont get many ae85s here (read, almost none) so i dont think anyone could tell you if theyre different to 86. but adm 86 strut casings are the same as jdm 86, its just the brake calipers and discs, which are interchange/compatible with the adm ae86 caliper brackets and hubs anyway.

    there are a bunch of other very small differences, but the only functional one really is the bellhousing has the clutch slave on the passenger side. so some aftermarket jap headers wont work, while some will with just a different clutch hose (needs a banjo on the slave end).

    the tanks are slightly different. so you might need a surge tank when you do whatever engine conversion you plan. fuel lines also, but can be made to work for most set ups.

    obviously dash loom is different too. and headlight loom. but thats simple enough sort of thing for anyone who's doing a swap which involves a carby to efi conversion.

    all cars are also zenki levin hatches. with low spec trim. and zenki trueno tail lights.

    we do have lots of imports too though. bit more coin, but theyre worth it if you can get that much together at once.
