The peddle box is rubbish. We had it in an open wheeler and during break test the driver demolished the brake. We bent it back straight (ish) and welded some 2.5 mm sheet either side of it (IIRC) and along the back. I'll have photos somewhere. you'll also have to brace the accelerator more. Ours was twisting the sheet metal bracket real bad.

cheers for that, how did you have yours mounted if you don't mind me asking?

i was looking at a tilton one today and it appears to be the same thickness material, just the base plate is shit to mount, not really sure what they were thinking there

I'll get some photo's - will have to email a mate for them. The person who mounted it did a really shit job - 4 x M6 bolts into some riv-nuts - didnt last long. We ended up bolting it too two ally plates (about 2.5 mm) and then bolting the ally to the chassis. The car its self was a big abortion, but the peddle box was by far one of the biggest aborted parts haha.

I would have thought it best to run a top mount box instead, as you can use the fire wall and bulk it up if needed.

Also, i thought i might add - the material itself is probably sufficient, but it is just poorly designed. Like you really need a throttle stop at the accel. peddle to stop it twisting cause it is only in single shear. Never underestimate the force you can exert on the peddle box haha

Oh trust me when I say it's well secured, and yes it has a throttle stop. It's mounted with two m12 bolts on the pedal side and two m8 on the resivoir side. Fixed to a 3mm steel plate on the floor, its not going anywhere. I've sat in the car and pushed to shit out of all the pedals, no dramas at all.

I can't use a top mount setup In my car due to my cage and nor did I want to. after driving other cars I setup with floor mounts I wouldn't use anything else

Ah k - i really didnt like our set up with the floor mounted box - but that said, it was really rubbish. Sounds like you have it sorted though.

ok done some mods to keep some people happy the car is now sporting some standard rear rails, so now no one at superlap can pick on me, this meant redoing the entire rear half of the cage again. the things we do
