post a picture of the DLI box, I want to see if it's the model I think it is. It might pay to just get rid of it and run 4 coilpacks
Okay, so I bought a silvertop from a guy on these forums last year sometime, it had been in an 86 before and came with the ecu, loom, coils, ignitors and a DLI box.
I finally got it all wired into the car recently and it wont run. Wired up a check engine light but cant seem to get codes, -the light just stays on (TE1 and E1 bridged in the diag conector)
The DLI box has a couple extra wires labled "test" and "Kill" comming out of it not sure if I need to hook the kill one up to something to get it to work? Inside the box the board is labled "Steve 2003" and TOYIGNEXP" But i cant find any info on it.

Its just a bare metal die cast box like you can get from an electronics store. I was was reading about people running 4 COP's with a blactop ECU, will it work on a silvertop?
And I couldn't really get my head around firing all coils at once, how do you avoid backfiring through the intake when the coil fires on the intake stroke?
And surely perfomance suffers?
it does work with a silvertop, it doesn't backfire because on the intake stroke there is no compression to cause an ignition

LOl okay, so why hasnt it been done a million times before, and with other motors?
