Import dealer advice?

I want either a notchback, or a trueno. would prefer both with a 20v blacktop, but not picky.
Now, if john84ie sells his (sexy sexy) car before the end of march, i will probably have to look at importing one myself (unless something else as correct comes up), and i was wondering if anyone has experience that they could pass onto me.

What i want to know is;
- Who have you used that were professional/knew their shit/trustworthy
- Who actually still imports hachi's
- How much am i looking at for a decent clean one.
- Was it really worth importing
- Is importing/compliancing myself a viable option?
- Any advice
- Will the ladies *really* touch your penis more often with a JDM one

Any help would be really appreciated. I have read both horror stories and rave reviews, but at the end of the day, I just want the right car, with hopefully the right price.

a deposit will need to be put down for a private importer to start looking for you, and if you pull out, you wont see the deposit as that money has been sent to their connection over in JLand to start looking for a car..
Not going to name who i went with but my fault i didn't ask what would happen if i pulled out

a decent one is about 12k, not complied, 15K+ will get your practically a no rust one, but good luck finding one
Clean Trueno with no honest rust is hard to find, notch back or hatch back, as i was looking for one in late 2010 and for 3months of waiting, i got shown 2 cars of my preferences (cause im a picky bastard =P) and both ended up looking awesome but when inspected, not as awesome as picture showed..

i was told Levin are easier to find in excellent condition then Trueno

my advise is be patient,very very very patient, might be a week to find your RIGHT car, or like me 3months and only seeing 2 cars and both failed to meet my standard...and i had a 18k budget i was willing to spend, the right car didn't come up in the time frame i had to shop, and lost my deposit and was hachi-less..no doubt a car would of been found for me but i wasn't willing to wait any longer, who knows could of been another 5months before i found the right one =[

How much roughly was the deposit ?
If you told me who, then i will know to avoid them.
are there just big importers that bring in a shitload of cars (33's, 34's 180's etc) that also bring in 86's?

i can say they are not dodgy, it was just not my months of ae86 and my pickiness, i mean a friendly company to deal with, just my bad luck =[, i'll PM who i dealt with,

depends where your located, but in NSW there isnt an 86 importer since no one can really afford even a 5k sprinter =.=', must import on demand i guess, and im assuming that the case in most state, no everyone is willing to pay 10k+ for a old corolla, just doesn't make any sense lol
