nope only imports as far as i know
I havent seen one since I landed here, not even on the forums.
Whys that, they not come as a standard car here?
nope only imports as far as i know
too expensive i reckon..... japan found treasure of this car...
i think places like philippines and malaysia would hold em for a decent price..
And NZ
But 99% are rusted to fuck
none here. no ones bothered to import them. there are like 2? bill sherwood and some other guy. probably 1 or 2 more but yeah..
we kinda missed the boat.. like, our "import scene" doesnt really have the much of an idea.. so no one imported them when they were cheap.. now theyre exxy cos theyre rare in j even. no ones really worked out how to get shit from NZ cheaply either..
plus.. dunno.. theyre a bit shit. its not like a shrunken 86.. some wacky stuff, diffs an s series, struts are tiny skinny things, sway bar IS the tension arm (like an escort) triangulated link rear end set up.. bit of a world onto their own. bit of a shame but. id love one, but i couldnt justify it, i dont think youd get your money back out of it like you can an 86.. and parts would be a genuine pain.
Apparently there are about 4 or 5 KP starlets in Brisbane. I've only seen one myself.
People don't import them from NZ because
1. They are all rusty shitboxes now
and
2. Who would fork out thousands of dollars to ship a $1000 car?
I've looked into it and the import rules say you have to own the car for 12 months in NZ before importing it.
And the reason people really go for them is the power/weight ratio... a 4AGE in a 700 odd KG car is going to be a bit more nimble than a 1000kg car with a 4AGE
