Default SC12 Pulley Bros Pulley Questions

    Hey all,

I have a question regarding the 4AGZE SC12 Pulley Bros Pulley kit.

Have any of you guys run one of these, or know someone who has?

I recently purchased one, and was wondering why there is a relay included in the kit? Doesn't the factory loom have a relay that engages and disengages the clutch as part of the factory setup? I can certainly hear one flicking on and off on my car, and am wondering why I would need another? I do know the wiring in my car has been modified, so perhaps it's different to the norm.

Also, are what sort of gains should I expect, 5% to 10% on current?

And, I've read plenty of stories of premature supercharger wear/failure by running them with both an overdrive on the crank as well as a smaller SC pulley, in attempts to increase boost to 14 or more PSI. I certainly don't want to go this far, and was wondering if using just the smaller SC pulley (increasing to about 11 PSI) is going to cause me grief or not.

    Any help appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Az

Guessing no one has done this mod before due to the lack of response?

    1. Haven't used one, but was going to.
    2. Don't know why either, but see how it goes with the factory setup first. Seems strange though...
    3. Gains about 5%, more so on boost earlier and is more punchy. Top end gains a little, but not noticiable.
    4. 11psi is super safe! Just dont start combining this pulley with a larger crank pulley (say a 175mm). Would probably go up to a 165mm crank pulley in future if you need more

Thanks for the input, anyone else had any experience with one of these pulley kits?

One of my friends got one for an SC14 and the clutch was a 24V unit so it came with a voltage step up converter, didn't come with a relay though
