Cool 7AGE build - Give me your oppinion!

    Heya guys,

I'm currently putting together a list of parts to get my 7AGE build on the way. I'm looking at a mild build with best bang for buck parts and this is what I have so far (Excluding the obvious 4age head, 7afe bottom end etc..) I'll be using the top end and ecu from my small port.

    Ported and polished head
    4AGE OEM pistons
4AGE OEM Headgasket (Should keep the compression ratio pretty decent?)
    Kelford 266/8.5mm cams
    Adjustable cam gears
    J-Works Forged rods
    7AFE Crank
GREDDY E-Manage Blue (Already have one so it's a cheap option
    20v Blacktop quads

This is the rough list of modifications i have in my head, can you guys expand on this for me at all or give me your thoughts?

I'll ammend this as you guys chuck me ideas etc and as I remember things.

    Cheers!

    Will.

That looks like an excellent setup. The cams aren't too big that they need underbucket shims or upgraded valve-springs, and the compression ratio with stock high-comp pistons + stock HG will still be in the reasonable 11-12:1 ratio (still good on pump fuel).

I'm not entirely sure if the emanage blue will be happy to run the quads perfectly, but i've seen them used on some fairly wild setups, so should be okay.

There isn't much i'd change on that setup, maybe a flywheel.

It should be good fun for a daily driven street/track car

I'm semi interested in going up closer to 272 degrees with the cams as well.. It wouldnt cost me anymore it just puts a bit more stress on the e-manage

I am going to make this the new 7age reference thread, so it will be linked to from the index.

Now there would be no point going to blacktop throttles as even silvertop would be more than you need.

I am a reseller of cams now so I can pride something from mild enough to run with the stock Ecu to full shim under race spec.

This company I sell through supplied the Toyota team at Bathurst here before and after they got caught out for breaking the rules with their valvetrain choice.

    Cheers Sam,

I've already got blacktop ITBs in my cupboard, got them very cheap so i figured i'd snap them up.

I'm looking at going taller cams, 277 degrees and around 8 to 8.6mm of lift with trd or hks valve springs.

I'll flick you a pm in a sec with some questions in regards to cams

    Thanks again!

oh fair enough, make sure you port the manifold to suit the throttle shape then.
