    Default Beams KE10 Build

Well this is where it all starts for me, first car build and first car. Its a 1969 ke10 Corolla. I bought it off eBay and here is what I bought.. thinking it was complete.

Actual image from the eBay advertisement

The night I got my car home, At this stage I started to realise things were missing haha!

I started pulling things off, before I knew it the car was a shell

and what would a Corolla be without rust.. We love rust. Not.

Main reason I wanted to pull and lip the guards abit...

Flare look dodgy here, but they got completely welded on and ground back.
It gets better, I spent 2 months on the body preparations making sure I got it as good as I could. I'm not a Panel beater or spray painter either.

    Domo say's Hi

The last 2 months have deffiantly paid off, the car is awsome. I'm currently assembling it, finding all the little trims and getting replacements for most parts is prooving to be a pain although I will get it done. I picked the car up from my mates spray booth 2 days ago. I have all the chrome strips on, most of the glass in and most rubbers all cleaned and ready to be put on. The car should be done soon I hope.

New Rubbers Just about all through the car. I replaced every perished rubber I could get my hands on... cost abit but worth every cent!

Stickers are appearing in numerous places hahaha. I will get a JNC one and put one somewhere

    Update soon!

Well I got the car running with the 4k motor, till I decided It wasn't fast enough within a few seconds of driving it.

So out goes the 4k and in goes a new motor.

    2TG Pow-ah

Also started building another KE10B... Its dead original.

Paints pealed in a few spots around the car and one tiny rust bubble has appeared on the drivers door, but I've since tig welded it up and its getting finished this weekend.. hopefully have it in the spraybooth for a full respray within the next 2-3 weeks.

This ones getting a 5k/4spd motor... purely for weekends.

If anybody is interested, I actually have another KE10.. 4k/toyoglide in decent condition, although has some more rust. PM me if you are serious about it.

    Yeah, Jordains the name

Yeah, 2tg.. doesn't exactly fit in the old KE10's.

I've got a custom cut down KE70 cross member with the rack and pinion for it to go in soon when i sort out some stuff, R31 LSD diff.. Tilton floor mounted pedal box all inside the car so I can get those porno DCOE 40 webers or FCR quad bike carbys in there nicely.

The 2tg has been bored a little and has a 2t crank, although i'm putting a 3t crank into it so it's just shy of 2l.. 1940cc to be precise, set of reground cams and equal length stainless extractors. Ah, plenty of welding to do haha!

This cars currently on hold for a little bit, I am going to finish the original KE10 first, just because I want a car and the 2tgke will take a while to sort out.

it'll go out to a 1940 if you use 89mm forged pistons. i was going to build one of these ages ago and was going to run 3t crank and 86mm acl cast pistons which helped keep costs down and end up with a capacity just over 1.8l.

Yeah 89mm forgies, I'm still undecided though. I think the 1600 will rev harder, but I may be wrong and my friend Fonzy did the 1940cc motor and thinks its shits all over the 1600

Yes I know its off centre. KE70 rails seem to bend inwards.. No idea why but it fits in the KE10 Like this! Yes I measured about 5 times because I could not believe it haha!

    Birdpoo weld

2TG KE10 Cross member with a rack and pinion.. Woo! - Excuse the blind looser... hahahah!

    The result, Two happy Corollas!
