Can Any one tell me if this is correct when using a Oz spec loom with JDM ecu.??
Doing my converson on the weekend and need the info...
the following is for a jdm ae86 4age motor into a ksev
The way I did my wiring was simple: on the loom to the ecu there is a plug that has a black and orange wire and a black and white wire (there are more wires but not as important). Give the black and orange wire power from the run position on the ignition. The black and white wire needs power from the start (crank) position on the ignition. Then on the 14 pin plug on the ecu, connect the two red and blue wires and the red and white wire together which also requires run power.
I can't remember if the ecu needs direct power but if the above doesn't work try run power to the yellow wire on the ten pin plug on the ecu.
Also make sure you have the motor well grounded.
Tommorow I will work on altenator wiring
Peace out for now

Use followed by and cross reference the two. Follow JDM ae86 looms when wiring an ae82 as they are pretty much the same.

just to add to what uve already said,
the red and white wire on the 14pin plug should have battery power, fused of course.
oh and so people dont get confused, when ure talking about wire colours when they have a tracer of a different colour, you should state the main colour first.
ie. the black/white wire is the starter wire, and the black/orange is the ignition power.
To add to my rushed comment:
-Two black-red ecu wires labled +B and +B1 join together, and connect to EFI Main relay output in the ae86 fusebox OR to a 12V ignition switched relay.
-Red-white which is labled BATT, obviously goes to 12V constant battery (can be tapped off a thick white wire in the passenger kick panel fuse/relay area - check with multimeter). Add a small fuse if you like, 2.5-5amp?
-Black orange wire near coil on a 4ac is 12V on ignition. This can be connected to the positive terminal on the 4age coil and will power the igniter if the igniter is hooked up correctly as per factory to the coil.
-The injector power wire BF (Yellow usually), pin 10 on the 10pin plug can sometimes not get 12V depending on how the loom is wired. For fail safe measures give that 12V switched on ignition.
Alternator Wiring (4ac-4age - Maybe 4k aswell).
AE82 usually has the correct colours, they are:
Yellow or Yellow/white - Lamp
Black/yellow - Ignition
White - Sense
and then the 2 thick white wires that bolt to the alternator, which go directly to battery.
Sense is used to detect the 12V presence, so you can wire that to the battery OR tap it into the wires on the bolt on strap to the alternator.
On a 4ac, the external voltage regulator sits on the passenger side strut tower. You have 3 wires that come from the 4ac alternator which go into the regulator (blue, white and red - from memory). The other wires on the plug are the ones to look for, and should basically match up colour for colour.
I will add a proper alternator guide soon

hey guys thanks for adding with more info :-) this my first "How to" post lol and yeah shouldve named main colour before trace.
Rightio, on my altenator, I have a 3pin round plug, white, black and blue wires. Sounds like everyone else gas different colours to me? Can some one help me? I've tried wiring it up best I can but I don't think it's charging. Thanks
just a thought, why couldn't anyone tell mehow to wire my shitup before? I asked this question myself and couldn't find a thread as exact as this one lol.
It wasn't until I figured it out myself that someone had a reply lol
Oh well, at least the next noob will know from this =D
i dont suppose any1 of you have pics of said loom ready for install? i am trying to wire up my new jdm loom for an easy install after my motor goes in cheers all
the dyno pull to 300rwkw
BT20v is making 300rwkw like i said i would without nitrous so now its time for some spray and see if she will run a 10s or less
That's a good diagram, the only thing is for some reason Toyota love to change the colors of the wires coming out of it, so for all those reading. If your colors don't match the ones listed, ignore them and just follow the pinout shown.
