Default ADM and JDM 86 Differences.

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you guys could help me, by outlining the main differences between the jdm ae86 and the Adm version?

Just what bolts straight on, What's different etc.

I've been doing some research but I cannot find an awful lot so any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

No offence man, but you probably haven't researched all that hard. But to sum it up:

    JDM:

    Have 4AGE motors
Nicer interiors, generally (almost always black/grey)
    T-series diff, often with LSD
    Fuel tank has swirl pot
In most cases, has different (nicer) taillights
Later-model (kouki) JDM ae86's have different front and rear bumpers
You have trueno (pop-up light ae86's) as an option
You have power-steering as an option (on very few cars)

    ADM:

    Have 4AC motors
    Usually have maroon/beige/navy interiors
Have crappy S-series diffs, that you can't fit an LSD to.

Almost everything from JDM<>ADM will bolt on to one-another, it's just a case of checking your good friend 'google' before you do anything, just to be safe

    ^ can i try and correct you...lol

JDM AE85 is more like the ADM AE86, both had different engines but still both carby...AND im not to sure if the AE85 came out with T series..if it did...ADM sprinters really really are just pure shit lol
Zenki AE86 are still 4age, T series drum brake with late model Zenki being Disc?
Kouki AE86 shits all over the other specs as standard..

and yes, everything on a JDM car will suit a ADM, same car, just came out stock with different shit

    JDM:
    Better front brakes
    Better diff
    Better rear brakes if disc
    Better motor
    Bell housing suits 4AGE
Options like power mirrors, windows, no ugly antenna, tilt steering wheel, power steering, air con.

If you can just buy a JDM Kouki. All the hard work is done from factory which leaves you time and money to spend on refurbishing or upgrading rather than converting.

Every part off a JDM car will bolt directly into an ADM one, with the exception of the fuel lines, and even they can be forced to fit. ADM fuel lines run down the opposite side of the tunnel so the mounting holes are in the wrong place. Also, the ADM shell lacks the tabs under the floor to attach the exhaust heat shields. Minor issue. They also didn't bother drilling the holes for the power window wires. Otherwise, the shell is identical.

Parts of the interior trim in Australian ones are also made of thinner, more brittle plastic that shatters when you touch it.
