Default Are all 4age HG's the same??

Bit of a noob question, so excuse my ignorance.
But i asked greenline to send me a TRD 0.8mm Gasket for a 4age 16v, usually they ask for what motor etc so i stated what mine is: Ae101gze

    I got this reply

    Hi Grant,

Thanks for your enquiry. After contacting TRD we have been informed that they do not have a head gasket suitable for the 4AGZE.
HKS have 0.7mm (Currently no stock available) and 1.0mm (limited stock 4 units) head gaskets suitable for the 4AGZE.

Please let us know if you require further information or assistance.

    Regards,

    Jason

I would have thought they were all the same, but this reply begs the question...
lol im getting over this motor being in my shed and not in my car, im half tempted to not bother with the head gasket as last time i changed one it was a massive pain in the arse...

4AGE 16V and 4AGZE gaskets are all interchangeable, regardless of year/model

20V gaskets (ST and BT) are ever so slightly to the 16V versions

ive put my 16v and 20v gaskets together the only change is in the water jackets and the blocks are the same anyway they are interchangable. i think they dont do a hg for ze cos they are most likely 1.1 or .13mm not .8mm or .5mm that trd makes. i use .8mm in my turb engines.

I think your wrong, the blocks are the same but its irrelevant, the water flows through the 20v head in a different direction and running a 16V gasket on a 20v engine will mean that the cylenders towards the back of the head will be cooled better than the front on the exhuast side.

i agree with sam, i have a stock 20v and a stock 16v gasket here, and the gaskets water jackets are of different design. i wouldnt recommend interchanging them. the head cooling design is so diferent.

yeah i said the water jackets in the block are the same and the hg is just adjusting the flow for the head, the block faces are the same. anyway ive always bought trd gaskets as 16v ones.

what are people using as metal gaskets for 20vs then??
