All these guys see here is 36 posts and they think you don't know anything. You should post up some of the stuff you've worked on some time.
Thought I'd chuck some pictures up of this since I checked it during my build.
Before I start I must stress that my calipers aren't the most accurate things
so the measurements are purely for guide to show the difference in sizing.
Oil gallery to the left of the stud (block)
Oil gallery routed into stud hole (head)
ARP stud thickness
Stud hole size
OEM bolt thickness
Oil feed inside stud hole (head)
As you can see the OEM bolt has a much thinner shaft allowing for more oil to pass by it.
I would have thought that the space left by the ARP stud was enough as the oil feed inside
the stud hole in the head is very tiny in the first place, but obviously it can be an issue.

Derek, thats taken into account the stud sits dead centre you would have .4mm roughly round the stud.
This is a pic of the stud in place. If you have a look at the front of it, you can clearly see its touching the head.(oil gallery for the cams is at the front) The grooves around the sides are from where we used the die grinder to increase the hole size. Even with that and the oil gallery size increased the oil pressure is 1/2 of what is at the block (15 psi at idle and 30 psi at 4000). Also found another person today who's had the same problem.
Maybe toyota didnt quite getting the machining perfect on all the heads.
I'd rather avoid the issue all together but I'm not sure the best method to take.
I wonder if using a standard bolt for this one corner and ARP studs for the rest would effect anything?
As that would be the easy way out... Other than that maybe re-drill the stud hole to 1.5-2mm larger?
But I don't know how thick the walls around there are or if there are any other galleries to watch out for.
I seriously doubt you would run into anything, however getting the swarf out of that small hole though...
