    Default FT-86 III - Scion FR-S

    Looks pretty f**king awesome!

Just a prototype, obv. Still, if it looks a bit like this, makes 200hp and comes in under 40k, i'm all over it.

We don't get Scions here, thankfully. IMO that is aimed squarely at typical american "car enthusiasts". Ridiculously over sized wheels and a tacky bodykit can only make it slower than a standard one.

We may not get Scions in Australia, but that doesn't mean Toyota couldn't bring this car here if they think it might sell. Look at the Rukus, it's a Scion in the states, yes?

its obviously gonna be made more subtle when its released but the way things are going the bodylines are looking pretty sweet. massive kits and oversized wheels wont be something that comes stock. that shit only appeals to teenagers and there wont be many teenagers who will be able to afford a brand new one.

ill be happy to trade my fc3s in for a white one

If you knew how they were marketed youd understand.

Lexus = Old, grey, rich, well finished

Scion - Young, fresh, poor, blinged up.

The whole brand is aimed at youth. Id be a lot more concerned that it would be for old people if it wasnt a scion branded vehicle in the US. Chances are it will have a pulse. I think it will be a sales revelation as it should blow most small sporty rwd models out of the water for price. Being a scion it should be cheaper than an MX5, s2000, and definately a long way less than an is200, 1 series or TT.

it feels like its going to be another s2000 or hyundai genesis for australia i think. it either wont come in or itll be at prices of around 70k.

they wanted to bring the genesis here but it would have had to be $70k to buy one. a s2000 was the same, cost less than $40k equivalent australian in japan, but here it cost over $70k.

if it does magically fall under $40k i will possess one

Well a Rukus starts well under 30 and thats the only scion in Australia reference I have to go off.

Its a 2.4 litre i think. Thats a lot of capacity for 28k, so heres hoping that the strength of the Aussie dollar helps out aswell, if the planets align, maybe 30k retail. Might be dreaming, but the way the dollar is going...

True enough. But if Toyota are going to release any version here, I would think it will be the cheapest one they can get their hands on, not one that will cost a premium.
