Wayne bell along with other AE86's were regulars in the Australian Rally championship back in the 80's.

1987 Bega Rally. 3:30 4:05 etc are all ae86's.

Imports have always been able to be registered...
As long as they are imported as per the correct rules & met the ADRs
I think you're confusing "grey import" with "track only import".
I though that cars could only be imported if they met specific year requirements? Also would those rally 86's be private or Toyota imported?
These are rally cars. They fall under a completely different set of rules.

so how do they have standard rego plates? any info would be good, just find it interesting that we raced 4age ae86's but could never buy them!
