Nah clutch slave isn't going to create heat.

I guess the thing to think about is what could be creating heat. Its really got to be something with moving parts (friction) or something involved with the combustion process.

do u have rediculous bonnet spaceing? if u do your tunnel may not be gettin the airflow it used to get. allowing bigger gaps at the rear of bonnets alows airflow but it sometimes give all the wind coming through annother place to go.. if do have your bonnet spaced try removing them check ur tranny.

when was the last time u checked or changed the oil in the gearbox? their is nothing at all in that area that could create enough heat to warm up the tranny tunnel in order for it to give your left leg a sun tan. if it was on the pax side then the exhaust but its not so u can rule that out. id be doing an oil change on the box, oh by the way how long have u been driving and how hard before this happens... i just re read its through the carped/deadening to.. thats intence!!

Wait, are you saying you pulled the engine and gearbox out and didn't change the gearbox oil?! Did you even drain the box? as you would have had oil everywhere when you pulled it all out if you didn't. Or did you just pour the old oil back in.
