if you've got a borgy use that.
both are weak and probley bound to break at some stage. borgys are way more common than s series diffs. so replacment axels/centres will be cheap and very easy to sorce.
so dont go out of you way to put an s series in.
i have a way of doing it which last pretty long still havent broken mine pm me for details

well diffs now welded seems to be okay i took it out last night n today for a run
no weird noises or shakes
we will see how long it lasts
if it doesnt hold get a 5ml steel plate drill hole in center for axle to slide through then angle the pate so all 4 corners touch the spider gears and weld the corners of the plate to the gears , got that tip off a guy who builds and races 9sec rotaries strongest way he rekons

The problem with welding S series diffs is that there is almost no room to get into the spider gears. Just preheat the whole centre then weld as much of the spider gears as you can through the tiny holes.
I found with welded S (and T) series that things would last ok drifting if I used 205/50 R15 tyres or smaller. Any larger than that and I'd break axles very quickly.
when i welded it i was able to get a ew good weld on the gears the i put m10 by 30 mm bolts in and welded it all up
in all 4 sun gear holes
im sure the welds will not snap im more worryed about snapping axels or ripping teeth of the crown
yee thats okay as im runnin 205/40/14
fill it with led
