z10/z11 soarers are f series
Ok. Sounds good. Ive had a 1uz, 1ggte and currently working on a 3rz all with w58 boxes and g-series.The 3rz conversion is unfortunately not progressing very quickly at the moment. Not sure exactly what weight the 3uz will be, but from my experience, you will be looking at a minimum of 150kg extra weight. But you wil find the balance will be similar to a standard AE86. From memory, the 1ggte/W58/G series added 5% more weight over the front axle, while the 1uz/W58/G series was interestingly 3% more weight over the front axle only. This was because the V8 can be mounted further back. I remember this because it was a major factor in getting the cars engineered.
The links were in the old toyomods site with pics.
Here are some more
I remember on the 1ggte/W58/g series I used an MA61 strut, MS65 hub and used the MA70 front and rear brakes complete with master cylinder. Just needed to make an adapter for the front caliper. The engineer loved it because it was a complete brake system. It also allowed me to use EL, EF falcon wheels. But it took quite a bit of fiddling with the backing plates for the rear discs.

Thanks for the info guys, i have a Hiace G series and was looking for some info on disk/lsd conversions
can anyone see any problems with running Sierra shocks and 210mm 7KG AJPS springs with a G series? just wondering if there would be clearance issues
Thanks.
I have my corolla very low with a G series and have has no issues at all,

I know that this is an ancient thread but I need a little help, if all of the cars mentioned on the first page run a "G Series" diff then does that mean all of the centres are the same? I.e. will a TRD LSD for a G series cressida fit a G series hilux?
Centers are identical. Ring gear and pinion are not interchangeable from irs to live axle ( they can be made to work though). i believe that 4 pinion factory LSD does not fit into a 2 pinion live axle housing but since you are looking at aftermarket centers it won't matter.

For disc brake conversation try and keeping the 4x114 I'm currently using r31 disc and caliper and if you want a hydro you use a vn commadore caliper. I'm currently doing the plates so I'm post a pics up when I get it done. Could make extras if people are interested. And for for lsd solutions try this I haven't done this yet but at least I can get a 2way in it.
So if the centres are the same the trd lsd centres would be the same too? Wat is it exactly about the gears that don't fit?
Yeah the centers will fit in either irs or live axle. Each setup will require slightly different bearings but a diff shop or cbc will sort it easily.
The r & p have different offsets from irs to live. Irs is usually a lot thinner in the ring so a spacer needs to be made to fit it into live. Each application seems to be slightly different though so all crush tolerances need measuring before the final spacer gets machined.

Ohh, so I can just put my existing r & p onto the new lsd, which bearings need adjustment? That isn't an issue, just so I know what to look for
