Spiggot bearing and engine mounts sorted, loom almost done.

Just forgot i took annual leave the first day back from this long weekend so it'll be sooner than i thought.

Fuel system and dizzy should be sorted by then, (VL fuel pump $70 2nd hand) intake reattached, thicker wires purchased to complete the loom, alt and ground points.

after the flywheel is machined will put it the t50 onto the 4age, clutch still looks fairly new has so depending on how much money i have I'll decide whether or not to get a new clutch or not.

drop the engine in, sort out the plumbing to the radiator and external thermostat. (i think this will just be a case of getting some hoses that suit) edit: thanks to dogan for this pic: and thanks to slide86 for pointing me here: and here

expensive part: still need to get a hold of some extractors and a dizzy at a decent price.

going pretty smoothly so far, except nothing goes in the engine bay yet until i remove the rust in the firewall. Need a welder or someone to come over with one its only a small section about 100 x 150mm that needs to be cut out/put in right in the middle where the heater hose is.

    BEFORE:

    1 hour later, haha:

    shiny box

    before (yuk):

this was a PBR clutch, still looks 70 - 80% meat left not much less than the new one at all so I might keep it for spare

    after:

I told the clutch dealer I need the T50 throwout bearing instead of the AE92 one and he said he will swap it but when i opened the box the guy still gave me the one for an ae92 so I'll have to wait until I can bolt on the box the the 4A-GE

flywheel machined at brookers brake service at west ryde - $35
purchased clutch kit from direct clutch services in QLD for $292 delivered

Thanks mate, Im glad I have inspired you. Good luck with your ae86, If you need a hand with anything let me know.

I live in a small apartment and have a shitload of close-by neighbors, only a single garage too makes it extremely hard to do some things. right now i have compressor, whole heap of tools, bumper bars, doors up against the wall, 4ac, 4age, t50 & whole bunch of other random engine parts (some which have ventured upstairs into my house, lol... and an 86. You can imagine how much room that would leave me with. I desperately need to build some shelves or something.

It's dark by the time I get home so I'll have to figure a way to get the throwout bearing off the sleeve (or whatever it's called) without making too much noise so i can press the new one back on the sleeve then bolt up the gearbox... hmmm... I tried last night but couldn't do it, i was making too much noise with the hammer haha
