fuel setups?

hey guys, my fuel pump is dead!, so i jacked the car up thios morning to discover that my fuel pump wasnt a vl fuel pump (which i already have) but this little black one with a + and - coming out of the pump, no teminals like a vl pump. my observation was that my serge tank also has a + and - to it aswell. is there a pump inside a serge tank too? if there is how do i know if that pump is dead and not the little black box one?

It would be weird if you did have a pump in the surge tank. But if you do, then that is ok I guess.

also can i just stick the vl pump where the black one was? and also what would the wires be going into my surge tank?

is the black one the feed for the engine or the serge tank?

if engine then yeah i guess you can just use the vl

If you have a big VL pump, then you want that after the surge tank, pushing fuel towards the motor.

Any smaller pump should do between the tank and the surge tank.

i have a feeling there might be a fuel pump inside the serge tank.

so i doubt it would be a vl one there. why else owuld i have wires ruinning into my serge tank?
