    Default tie rods and rack ends so expensive?

    REGISTER OR SIGN IN
    ok all i want to do is replace them on the 86

    repco wants $112 each side.. is this for real or what?
    am i just gonna have to suck it up and spend a min of $224 to fix my rack?

    I used genuine toyota rack ends 90 a side i use the buddy parts tie rod end tubes and tie rod ends this makes about 350 total! Good quality shite tho.. Normal ae86 tie rod ends are a little expensive.

    I recently bought my rackends and tie-rod ends from Autobarn, cost me $100 for the lot, but it helps if you know someone, that was for standard parts, try AJPS i think he does reasonable prices for standard gear.

    Repco had a special not so long ago, bluebird tie rods $7 each. Then I got new rack ends off Nathan for like $15. Winner.

    yea the tie rods are cheap, but the rack ends are expensive as

    pffft i just got new rack ends for a s13 for like $22 a side and tie rods for around $30 a side. i know people who work at auto one/supercheap though.

    from memory I got JIC inners for 300 and NAMS ends 250... But rose joints FTW!

    Added to Qauaife Rack and new bushes, bearings and boots was expensive but worth every penny!
