Default my 350 86 drift car.

hidey hoe. so i got this ae86 shell, and i settled on a motor for it. a nissan vq35de. i got it from a g35 for 170. the guy said he thought it had a cracked block, so i went and assest it and it had a cracked riser (oil pan). so one 70 dollar purchase from ebay and i got the riser. now i need a oil pump, ecu, wiring harness, 6 speed manual tranny, alternator, starter and other various parts. there is a shop here that has done this swap before and they are on board with helping me. they have given me the diagrams for the tranny tunnel and i will hire them to do the wireing when i get everything done with the motor. any way ill come back tomorrow with pics for yall. ill update this with pics as i complete the build.

sounds awesome. the torque in that motor na is awesome even in the heavier 350 shell, but in an 86 it will be awesome. assuming you will use the 350box but what diff?

also could you throw up some photos of the one already completed?

someone shot your windscreen? lol, only in america i suppose.

if you need a new flywheel an aftermarket lightened one is a quarter of the price of the factory dual mass one

    Exhaust manifolds!!!

So much better than the stock sound. VQ sounds so much better than 1uz. The gold vert made 300 dynapack horsepower with headers, exhaust and modded intake. So good.

Contact them, they're on the west coast too. Probably won't fit your car but get them to make something up!!!

Good to know thanks. So i heard that if you get a longer crank pulley then you should also get a lighter flywheel to keep the motor in balance. Is this true?

so here is an update so far. ive got alot of stuff done, but i also have alot to do.

i got accepted to the mechanics program at the college were im doing my pre nursing classes. so im taking 17-20 credits a term. the good news is they will help me rebuild the motor the right way. so ill be taking it in to the shop at college to get it all put back together.

a few questions for people familiar with this motor,
1, the fuel rail and air intake. should i get some upgraded after market ones or should i stuck with the originals and put the money saved else where for performance.

2, i removed the glass and am going with a see through black apoxy glass copound for the windows and rear hatch, does any one need rear windows to a ae86?

3, the front fenders are rusted at the bottom and im thinking about going with carbon fiber for the replacement, are there any real cons other than cost when switching from metal to carbon fiber? i can get the fenders, hood and back hatch all carbon fiber. that should shave off some weight, in reality though its more so i can say "yeah this is all carbon fiber" and people will go "damn that shits bad ass mang!!"
