if you're only replacing the block and head it doesn't matter. as you'll be using your current intake manifold (with TPS, Cold start) current fuel rail (with Injectors) current Dissy, etc etc etc.
hey guys i have blown the head gasket in my 86 so i am goin to fit a fresh motor.
now it is a big port with t-vis but im am unsure if it is a blue top or red top as it has been painted.
are blue top and red top interchangable with my harness?
from my reserch (wikipedia) to me it seem that they are but id like to be 100% sure
Mine has a JDM RWD manifold too so i think that it would be manifold absolute pressure (MAP) set up.

yehh ill be using a 100kw block and head,with my 86kw exhaust,manifold (with adapter kit)alternator etc so it should be fine???
sell the adaptor plate and weld up the smallport manifold, it is a far better design.

I used an adapter plate for the bigport RWD manifold on the smallport head... it was rather shit.
A cut/shut smallport manifold was much better. Quads even better again :p
