New AE86 Daily

Hi all,

I thought I might make a thread for just this car because my build thread on other forums are about my other ones.

First a little history:

I bought a 180sx (Now sil80) and due to drifting and always wanting it to be low with fitment i have received several defects. It became impossible to daily. So I began the hunt for the perfect daily, I went through a couple of s13s, ke70, charade turbo and an r31. Didnt really like any of them and they were sold within a month or two. Then I picked up the jzx81 Mark 2 with 2jzgte thinking it would be good to have a 4 door 'sleeper'. Problem was I needed an NA because i still have 2 years left on my Ps. One night after driving my mums mazda 3 up to the mountains hating life knowing i could be the sil80 or jzx, I found out a friend was selling his ae and Ive always had a soft spot for them and decided I needed it.

It needs a bit of love but it was pretty cheap so Im happy.

de-ziptie the car (except for where they are necessary)
Fix rust
Paint bonnet white (interim)
Do up the interior with new carpet, all original trims, chuck my spare nardi deep dish, make a custom gear knob, maybe jap it up with some plush stuff.. sick tassled velvet dash mat perhaps lol
Working speakers all around
Ducktail
Weathershields
New lip, not sure which yet.
Just rare bits here and there Ill find along the way.
maybe some more wheels, finger crossed i can buy back the hoshinos i sold a few months ago >.<
Respray in Cola colour (mega dark brown)

Will be used as daily part-time drifter if the sil80 breaks at winton or something. Parts will be bought for it when i dont have anything to do on the other two cars. So it might be a bit of a slow uneventful build for now with winton and matsuri coming up in the next few weeks.

how did the previous owner think white cable ties were a good idea?
