problem - looking for a good deal and advice
occurs/started when -
Okay so I'm about to bolt up the gearbox from my old 4AC to my new 4AGE, just thought while I am at this stage I may aswell get a new clutch at the same time (it looks about 50% worn...) also flywheel replaced with a new lightweight one.
I'll be buying a VL fuel pump as well.(quoted for $60 for a 2nd hand one, $70 somewhere else - wreckers) just wondering where would be the best place to buy these items from. I have seen this deal here:
They will post the flywheel and clutch kit all up for $392 AUD.($150 postage cost) If someone could tell me if it is worth it or not, or I can get better value somehwhere else etc. Also for the fuel pump and anything else I should replace at this stage. Thanks. Oh and I'll probably buy some extractors (thinking TRD copies) NEXT pay (next month).
What do you guys think? Cheers.

That looks like a standard clutch aswell dont buy that.
And don't buy a second hand fuel pump.....what are you doing bout a lift pump to the main pump?
You will also need new fuel filters.......one pre filter and a high pressure filter.
I got exceedy HD clutch kit from direct clutch services for $180 for my T18 though but still cheap as, and I just machined my own flywheel at work, so didn't cost anything very cheap clutch replacement
jworks flywheel and clutch. cheapest around.
trd copys arn't really much of an upgrade either.
just got quoted $266 ($240 + $22 delivered) Exedy HD clutch from Direct Clutch services. Will keep ringing around for one closer to sydney but sounds like a decent deal..
edit: okay some places are asking if i have I have a 200mm or 215mm flywheel & i am unsure... it's an ae92 smallport.. do i need to wait till i get home to measure it? farkk wanted to buy it today too..
Pretty sure you have the 212mm flywheel, all ae92 varients were 212mm
Re the fuel pump.....those pumps aren't designed to suck and feed......only feed. That and combined with the used nature of the pump you intend on using, its almost certain that it will fail quickly. Believe me I know, I went through 2 pumps like this on my turbo bluebird. Better off doing it properly the first time and not worrying bout being stuck on the side of the road.
Fitting a jdm or intank setup is the proper way to do it
